Bon Jovi bassplayer Hugh McDonald and I outside the Bon Jovi Hotel in Helsinki, Finalnd 2000.
"OK well here it goes:
On August 6th in Helsinki, Finland I had yet another Jovi encounter...
allthough a bit embarrasing but funny too hehe!!
Well we went to Bon Jovi's hotel in Helsinki,actually we had no clue where they were
staying but asked the taxi driver if he had any clue where the famous ppl would be
if they were in town. He gave us 3 options and we just gambled on one of them.
We lucked out!!
When we came to the hotel we spotted som "Jovi T-shirts" wandering about so we thought,
"yep this is it!" We spotted a small restaurant that had tables on the sidwalk, right next to
the hotel entrance were our "headquarter"LOL. We sat down and well just decided to stay
at our table to not look "too obvious". None of us had any Jovi gear on..ok I had a small
necklase saying Jovi, on a grain of rice lol, but nobody could read that!
So we had our drinks and talked. Then Obie O'Brien comes out. I say "Hi Obie!" to him and
he comes over for a chat. He talks to us for a long time and well being just very nice and cool.
I do "suspect" he was checking us out to see how we'd react if the MAN himself came out hehe..
Well after a long time, we'd allready gotten our food and was eating,Obie goes back into the hotel.
He came out later on,didn't look at the time at all during all of this so NO clue on minutes or hrs here lol!
Well then obviously Obie comes out again..
this time he was NOT alone...however most of us couldn't see cos there was this big pole right behind
our table, covering our view of the entrance, but Marika had a pretty good view lol.
She was TRYING to get our attention to tell us that Jon is OUTSIDE!!!!!
But not much luck as we're wayyyyyyy too into our "girlie talk".
Oh yeah we talked about how sexy JBJ's butt is....his BANANA
(for those who doesn't know what this referrs too...the FRONTAL PART, any idea now??! LOL).
Then we went onto how great Richie looks...yep I even went on and on about his MONUMENT,
talked about his now famous quote from his solo tour:
"Jon's got a nice ass, but we all know it's what in the front that REALLY MATTERS!"
lol...oh yeah everything came out..and we talked English cos well only 2 of us were from Norway,
and 2 were from UK (Marika and her mum, who came up with the whole banana thing from the start! LOL)
Well anyway..like 5 minutes into our uh…excited talk lol..Marika starts going "JON, JON, JON"
…and she finally gets our attention…but before we get to ask why, we see JON himself,
Obie and a bodyguard walk by our table!!!!! We're utterly in "shock" and instead of shrieking
etc we just go like "HI Jon!" and get a "HI girls!" back..with THAT GRIN!
…Now at this point all of us apart from Marika is blissfully unaware of the fact that both Obie
and Jon had heard our uh..talk lol!! So we're just being very excited but we do not bug him
…Jon did stop for a split sec incase we'd get up and ask for autographs or pics..but we le
t them keep walking..too suprised to even take PICS lol.
As they'd gone furthe down the street some teenage girls spotted Jon from the behind
..well that BUTT is easy to recognize for anyone LOL.
They ran after him being all hysterical. Marika then finally tells us she's seen
both Obie and JBJ outside the hotel entrance for a little while…
and she later told me that Jon had grinned alot, obviously enjoying our conversation
..LOL..and nodded to Obie who both grinned and nodded back to him..
shortly after that they passed by our table!
As you can tell the rest of us were like um…slightly embarrassed about the fact they'd
heard THAT part of our conversation lol…I do belive they enjoyed this lol!
I just hope I'll be able to attend any future fanclub trips or any future "close enocunters"
with JBJ and that he doesn't REMEMBER this uh..Banana talk in Helsinki??!! LOL
So folks beware…if you're outside BJ's hotel…someone CAN listen in on your conversation!! LOL.
