I got up late as I was up late on Tuesday sorting out my mobile so I could get a Vanocuver pay as you go sim card. I got that at Rogers and was all set with a local Vancouver cellphone number. Before I left I took this pic of the Glowbal bar and grill restaurant I had eaten at the night before:
I had also gotten a message from a friend where The Twilight Saga – Eclipse was shooting (it turned out they were shooting on Thursday instead but more on that later). I also realized quickly that I would run out of clothes fairly quickly so I decided to go shopping. Onto Robson street I went, and BOY did I shop lol. I got 4 different tops, 2 pairs of jeans and a pair of Ecco shoes, even got 2 free t-shirts.
Then I got a txt from my friend that they weren’t shooting Eclipse at the location I got on Wednesday but they would shoot on Thursday. I still went to the set to check it out and met a few cool ppl. Hung out there for a bit and got back to hotel and crashed.Thursday, Aug. 27th 2009
On Thursday I got up early as the cast call would be fairly early as it was a day shoot at a school. So I og there between 8 or 9 am. An hr or so later the cast started to arrive, believe it was Ashley Greene first then the rest came shortly after…I only got a few glimpses of ”someone” in these cars lol. I do belive I spotted Kristen in one of them. They had locked off the set big time. We got a few glimpse of the cast as they walked from their trailer towards makeup. I saw Ashley Greene, Rob, Justin Chon, Michael Welch but I didn’t get any of them on camera s it was too far away and they were too fast lol.

So it was basically waiting around there while filming was going on. Not much to see so we just hung around and amused ourselves as best we could hehe. Did overhear the extras getting their instructions of NO TALKING TO THE MEDIA OF ANY KIND, and the usual jazz ”we consider you as family now” blah blah. Apparantly they only had 500 extras over the course of 2 days (Thursday Aug. 27th and Friday Aug. 29th) and that is the only time for now at least they would need extras cos the other scenes they did not need any background ppl.

They had that school set until 11 PM so I think around 8 PM they wrapped and the stars left, I did see Michael Welch as he had the window down, the others had their windows up and the car either Rob or Kristen was on (or both of them lol) there was a jacket up towards the window on both sides of the car covering them up completely, the other actors just waved thru the windows hehe.

So got back to hotel late, but before I could crash I got another txt from my friend who told me where the NEXT morning’s shoot was, this time at a school outside Vancouver in the suburbs, where they were shooting the Graduation Scene. Not many ppl knew about this set from the start, but of course during the day the location leaked.

Friday, Aug. 28th 2009
So I got there around10 and the actors had already arrived. Not much going on but it was kinda cool to stay there and a nice neighbor lent us some chairs lol. After some time I was told by my friend that there was a second set across the street in the park where the outdoor part of the graduation scene would take place.

So towards late afternoon the cast left the set, first Elisabeth Reaser whos hand waving in the window was all I saw of her lol. Then my fave part of that day came, Peter Facinelli’s car came by, he in the front passenger seat, window rolled down saying hi and waved, I got that on camera! Such a cool relaxed guy! Next few cars to leave had to be Kristen first and then Rob cos neither of those cars went by where we stood..they drove directly up the street going away from us. First Kristen’s car then Robs with some security guys walking by it until it had passed the few ppl there. Security around Rob is SUPER tight and well considering what happened in NYC I don’t blame them. Some crazy girls decided to RUN after the car, freakin crazy!

Rob actually left the set altogether as the second sett hat day was only with the ”humans” no vampires on that set. The Summit security did struggle a bit with covering up the massive park but somehow they succeeded with the fans…but NOT with the paps and their long lenses lol. They got Kristen with her full costume much to the production team’s dismay but when the paps stood on private property with the owner’s permission (they paid for it) and with a clear view into the filming it was little the production team could do.
Early on in that second set some dude on the production team had the audacity to LASER us fans standing there to prevent us taking pics! Luckily none of us stared into that lazer beam cos well dammit I’d sue Summit for all I could sue if they had blinded me! I can understand them wanting to prevent ppl to take pics but freaking lazer beams? Gimme a friggin break Summit! There were NO PAPS were we were standing, they were elsewhere and the duchebag who shot those beams at us knew full well it was only fans. However that was the only idiocy I saw on the crew cos I found those I spoke to be nice but well firm and professional. As I expected them to be.

Anyways we saw some commotion going on with loads of umbrellas and I saw some tiny creature in brown outfit getting into a black small SUV. That was Kristen. She got in the car obviously wearing her costume, hence the umbrellas aka Summit defence system lol, The car comes by us, most ppl were busy looking at the set while I was looking at the car and waved, I knew who was in it..I see a tiny hand and a shadow waving BACK at me, so yep Kristen Stewart waved back, I did not take a pic cos pff got enough pics of cars with tinted windows thanks! Well when that day ended I got a ride with my friend back to the Skytrain station (Lougheed st) to go back to my hotel but first we stopped for dinner, at a Greek tavern. Nice place and we got a free dessert!
So finally back to my hotel, I crashed yet again, got up late on Saturday
Just one note, yes I am posting the videos of the cars, but please bear in mind they change cars too, they do NOT always drive the same cars so before ppl accuse me of posting cars that can be recognized I do not have lisence plates or any other recognizeable trademarks of these cars. and well I headed to the hotell where most of the Twi-cast stays. I won’t say where in public even if it is widely known by now, as they are still staying there.
Anyways hung out there, walking around, and just talking to lots of ppl that came buy, I actually ended up enjoying myself even though I saw ”nobody” there. Did miss seeing Taylor coming out of a cab cos I was too busy talking away lol. I ended up becoming friends with Anna from Australia as there was a Supernatural convention going on, met quite a few of the convention attendees there. One pretty girl from Venezuela was there, who also was a Bon Jovi fan to boot lol. An Italian girl who also as an extra on New Moon in Montepulciano was there.
Well no Twilight sightings happened that day but I had fun still. I met lots of new ppl, always a plus in my book! I did however spot a guy who's name is Jake Abler I think, he plays Adam Winchester in Supernatural. Again I was too late to take pics as I had no clue at the time when I saw him, sigh...
Sunday, Aug. 30th 2009
Again back at the hotel hanging out, nothing much going on , no sightings although Billy Burke and Michael Welch was spotted out and about by others, but me lol. Again I just ended up chatting with lots of folks. Met some more Jovi fans too…seriously us Jovi fans are literally EVERYWHERE lol.
Did take a couple of pics of 2 churches across the street there due to either one of them or BOTH are used in some of the Supernatural episodes..so here ya go:
I did have one lil sighting, or little, but not fast enough for pics, I saw Sarah Clarke (Rene, Bella's mom) walk by.
Then I get back ”home” (as in my hotel) after buying a bottle of nice Rosè wine, and intended to chill and watching TV. Then I get a text from Summerstone (a friend’s twittername) who told me Bon Jovi was on CMT! I quickly turned to that channel and got to see their ”Unplugged” thing on CMT. It was cool!
Then it was time for bed yet again.
Monday, Aug 31st. 2009
I had decided to start the day with doing the mundane task of getting my laundry done. So spent too long at the laundromat doing that but it had to be done lol. Then it got to be around lunchtime so I decided to og to Granville Island to check it out. SO HAPPY I DID! Cos to me so far I got my best star encounter here! And it has nothing to do with Twilight whatsoever but everything to do with LOST!!
Soo I walked down Granville st, over the Granville Bridghe and after walking for about 20 min or so I spotted a truck saying ”Eyewitness News” on it. Me not knowing what these news trucks are actually called in Vancouver I just assumed it was a local news truck and something happened, I am curious by nature so I stopped and asked what had happened. The guy who worked for the crew just said ”we’re filming a TV show named ”V”. I was so surprised and messed up saying ”oh the pilot?” He goes ”No the actual show”. Since I knew who was in it I crossed the street and saw DIRECTLY into the set. This was a wide open set! After the crazy tight security around the Eclipse set this was a pleasant surprise!

So I watched some extras with silly protest banners both supporting of the aliens in V and the non supporters of the V ppl, they pretended to shout at eachother, which looked silly cos they made no sound lol. Then I saw HER! Yep Elisabeth Mitchell in the flesh, as pretty if not prettier in real life as she is on TV. She plays and FBI agent on the show it seems. She walks towards someone, some guy walks by her, this guy (who's name is Tyler McClendon thanks to Hamburgo1001 for the info!) is approached by an older guy who acts agressively to this guy walking by EM. Some pushing and shoving going on, then the older guy suddenly holds his hands to his head and falls over, EM’s character shouts out ”Secure the area, I need backup!” and she bends down to the guy, 2 other agents come over and carries the older guy away. Then EM runs back into some buidling in the background.I saw this scene a few times and I see Tyler walking by EM having some sort of gadget in his hand that he pushes, which makes this older guy seemingly to get hurt thus holding his head and falls over.
The place is dressed up to look like somewhere in NYC, with the NYPD police car, the NYPD barricades, book sales stands, even the pretzels carts! Funny
Well They do a few takes, then it is time for lunch, I am there with another girl who also watches Lost and who also attended the Supernatural convention. We are both excited lol.
So EM takes off her black jacket and gets ready to head to lunch, she walks towards where we are standing, I approach her calmly ”hi Elisabeth?” she goes ”hi” and gives us a lovely welcoming smile! I tell her I am a big Lost fan, and that Juliet is one of my face characters on Lost, which is true! I ask her for an autograph and a picture and she just goes ”aww thanks, of course you can have that!” So the other girl took our picture and I get her autograph. The other girl ask who this tall guy in black is and EM says he is one of the main characters on the show too…so we approach the him too and he also was very friendly and approachable. Got my pic with him and his autograph too. I dunno him really but he was in one Supernatural episode and also a regular or recurring character on Stargate Atlantis. So if ANYONE recognize this guy gimme his full name please so I can put this on the pic lol. His name is Tyler McClendon. Charming and friendly!

I went onwards to Granville Island (the set was just about around the corner from the entrance to Granville Island to be honest!) and had some lunch. Walked around marvelling over the massive market there. Pretty cool area. I also found the venue where I will be seeing Bobby Long perform on Sept. 7th. The Backstage Lounge (no it has nothing to do with Backstage with Jon Bon Jovi :p).

After squeeing about my encounter on twitter, I had my lunch, walked around some more and came across a street magician having a hilarious show, and the guy was from England. Funny lol
I went back to the ”V” set and watched them doing some more scenes. Then I walked back to my hotell as I was eager to upload my pics and share them on twitter. After I got that out I got a text from my new Australian friend and we agreed to go out to dinner. She stays at the same hotell as the Twi-Cast is staying but not cos of them, she’s stayed there before. I waited in the lobby there for a couple of min before she came down (no I did not see anyone of the Twi cast there lol). We had dinner down Burrard st at this place called the Cactus Club Bentall. Yummy food. Too much food to be honest lol. Then after dinner we walked back to her hotell and then I got back out to chat a bit with those ppl haning outside the hotel again before I went back to my hotel.
